Well, you've outlined the war perfectly:
The industry schmucks at war with the public trying to get them to adopt their DRM infected, format incompatible, overpriced new offerings and the public politely declining in favor of video on demand, online downloading and current tech.

For once we can actually win a war with them, so let's do it. Just say NO to corporate greed and pigheadedness.
