Zdnet isn't a proper polling station
most have an agenda to see their product or religion promoted and other's demoted or dissed. I don't own a Mac, so I can't talk for or against its merits, but I can discuss how it's advertisements to the general public make me feel as a PC user (regarding Windows or Linux) and I can say it doesn't endear.

As for satisfaction, Apple seems to have worked very hard to bring about those numbers. Tight control over the product creation, both hardware and OS has its bullets in those numbers. Killing the clones may have reduced its marketshare, but it's a marketshare that can be easily maintained and serviced by Apple. Per say a fifteen to thirty percent switchover from Wintel would prove interesting in how it would affect quality in ramped up production to meet demand, and whether the Apple store employees would be as knowledgeable if stores had to expand as well. As far as general technology stores, they don't have a dedicated Sony, HP, Gateway salesperson who knows the product, just a person working for that check and hopefully some knowledge of other than the new Ashley Simpson CD's release date.

Oh well, as a people, with so many choices, it funny that a science story I read said this could lead to less satisfaction. Is it time for one Yugo per garage and that is all.
