I believe HD DVD really is a better option for it's compatibility and durability, if anything else.

Your point ... "If the anti-Microsoft crowd could calm down and see this objectively, it could actually be a good thing..." , while true.. in many ways is a don't care because the anti-MS crowd is really irrelevent anyways in the grand scheme of things. > They just make more noise.
