Great battery life like the iPod?
Seriously... the NUMBER ONE player, the iPod, doesnt get great battery life at all playing back video. So really, what are you talking about that battery life is driving sales? The iPod has *always* been mediocre in that area. The only exception is the essentially nonfunctional Shuttle and the very nice Nano.

There's really just no reason (other than MS hatred) to believe this player would be "MASSIVE" and "heavy" and "bulky". Keep on truckin hating Microsoft, but exaggerated "predictions" just look silly.

As for proprietary formats, you mean like Apples proprietary version of DRM enabled AAC? Last time I checked, those iTunes downloads dont seem to work on ANY other device. Nice try though...

Maybe if, say, a Samsung player were #1 with a bullet, this commentary would make sense. But given that the poor bat life/proprietary format (doesnt matter that AAC is open - Apples mandatory DRM is closed) iPod is by FAR number one, it shows that these points DONT MATTER TO NORMAL PEOPlE.

If this "Zune" has a good music store with a ton of content and is easy and the price point of said content is CHEAPER, it will win. Otherwise, it will fail. Anyone who cant see that basic fact is just a typical web forum tech fanboi for one side or the other that is just doomed to never really understand the realities of the marketplace.
