Not really

Microsoft makes more money on these sales to Mac users than
they do on Windows PCs. Since you have to buy a stand-alone
license (well, you don't have to but most will), you are adding
more to MS's coffers than anyone buying a Dell.

Most Mac users tend to be better paid, one could equate that to
better education. Also of note most Mac users have used
windows. The same can't be said of windows users. Those Mac
users buying Parallels, would probably buy an OEM license from
a place like Amazon.com. Like you said (well, you don't have
to but most will). How many windows users spent $199 to
$299 for a copy of xp? How much will vista cost? I've heard
anywhere from $99 for home basic to $399 for vista ultimate.
But other places claim it can be up or down, by as much as $20,
from what I've read.
