- That's five reports on this nonsense now? How about this instead:
-
MacOS on a PC. They're 99.999999999999989% there already. Just a different form of BIOS. Wow. What innovation.
Why would Apple want people to ditch an $800 PC to buy their own, which is the roughly same hardware for twice as much money? It's not just a waste of monetary resources, but a waste of good equipment. Nobody in the Mac camp can begin to claim "Intel is rubbish" anymore. Apple is using Intel. Therefore it's just the OS is crap, and anybody with half a functioning brain cell already knows that. (Funny how the industry is relying on Microsoft more and more, but their folly will catch up to them in time. Promises vs reality. MS will never succeed with the reality. )
But I digressed. They'd have a much larger target audience if they sold a shrinkwrap version of OS X.
And OS X, even if it is a lame derivative of FreeBSD, still has some amenities the free software doesn't.
But it's much more fun to say the contrary, which is as patronizing as it gets. For there are plenty of emulators for Linux and FreeBSD that run Windows too. Big woof. - Posted by: HypnoToad Posted on: 07/18/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
