Just wait a little and time allows for improvements on ideas...
Great Idea...Just wait a little and time allows for improvements on ideas...

I like the idea of the product with the chip on it having the ability of being erased...they just have to figure a way to make sure thieves don't have the ability to do so...

But again, how about increasing the strength of the antennae so that a reader provided to the purchaser could find the product at home if it we misplaced...kind of like a remote?

We all missplace cell phones that are turned off, or remotes(smiles...a remote to find a remote), so the finder-recongnizer of the chip could tell you how close you are to the item misplaced.

The chips could also be sold separately and have the ability to be placed on users property...the ideas go on...and we are at a point technology wise that most things are no longer impossible...and...I don't think it will take HP two years to implement this item...or sell it...unless the patenting of it gets caught up in goverment red tape...

I'd keep an eye out on this one...it won't get the bad rap that RFID has from fearmongers...
