Check the backlight rating on any LCD you buy.
It is the backlights or the inverter that usually fail on LCD's. Both are repairable and yield as good as new results when changed. The life of the backlights in better LCD TV's last every bit as long as the lamp in DLp TV's and are cheaper to change!
