Dell learned with the XPS 600 Renegade ($10,000 Quad-SLI system) that people will pay for just about anything, that includes a $4,500 "laptop."

I think it's a damn good system, it's beautiful and it's decently powerful. Maybe it'll sucker in the Mac user who wants to play PC games, and is used to spending obnoxious amounts of cash for his computers. It might just attract the frivolous.

Frankly, I'm a little surprised that this isn't an SLI laptop, but then, I have to keep reminding myself that Nvidia chose to put the mobile SLI chipset on the Turion platform (despite the fact that the Pentium M and the Core Duo outpace the Turion64 in gaming).

Gamers?
