Tivo DVR vs Directv DVR

Those who are familiar with DVR features using Tivo and Directv will agree that Tivo features are more user friendly and well thought out.

For example the search ahead feature is only with Tivo. If one wants to pause live TV go view their stored recording the Directv DVR stops the pause and doesn't record the live signal. One cannot multitask using DVR like you can with Tivo.

I hope that Directv will continue to support Tivo and those customers who have grown to love the service. Directv DVR has a long way to go for features and user friendliness.


Those interviewed in articles about the differences really don't sound like they actually have used both services. Long live Tivo with Directv.
