Actually, its more about the UI and the ease of use
And the iPod is pretty nice that way. Although I am still too cheap to pay for it. As far as sound quality goes, there are plenty of people who say they can hear the breaks between the 44+K sampling rates of digital music; I can't, but those people still pay $5000 for a cd player and the outboard digital converter, and say vinyl just sounds better than CDs, more real and alive and warm....
they sound a lot like Mac users justifying their extra price, in fact.
And your range of hearing is way off, plenty of people can hear down to 12 or 15Hz, and over 20Khz. As long as they haven't been playing their iPod too loud! LOL!
