Re-writing history
---Considering that Windows has always been more expensive than OSX (MUCH more expensive in multi-computer households), how exactly will you hold on to this position without falling into a double standard?---

Because OSX didn't exist when Windows rose to prominence. Duh.

At the time, Apple's offerings were much more expensive than the commodity PC's (and continued to be for quite a while). We're talking about taking over a market, not what happens after you control a market.

---Sounds like brilliant business strategy to me, something you are quick to credit Apple for with their iPod/iTMS/FairPlay strategy. ---

Absolutely. But I'm not sure I'd call that "marketing" as much as savvy business strategy. And I think that's more the case with MS than with Apple. Apple was selling the iPod like hotcakes long before the iTunes store existed, creating the synergy.

---I don't ignore it, I simply don't agree with it. You obviously look at someone else's opinion as proof enough for you. Personally, I don't view someone else's opinion as proof in and of itself. If I agree with someone's opinion, it is only because I agree with their proof and have come to the same conclusions as they have. That is the difference between a sheep and an independent thinker.---

Well, I tend to take the opinion of the US court system a little differently than some random dude in a talkback. And you should also, because that's the law of the land, and agree with it or not, you are forced (by law) to comply with that opinion in many ways. And if you truly think what Apple is doing with iTunes and iPod and their lock-in is evil (and you're not just being facetious with your comments), then overlooking MS' repeated pattern of lock-in seems hypocritical to me.
