The reasons for the iPod's success and Windows' success are quite different.

Actually, they really aren't. Marketing is the reason. Apple marketed the iPod better than anyone else. Microsoft did the same with Windows. Make a product that is good enough and then make it easy for people to buy that product and the results are amazing! Let's face it, if Windows wasn't good enough, people wouldn't use it. The Mac has been there as an alternative since day 1. Why didn't more than 4% of the population buy Macs if Windows truly didn't do the things they needed?

Yet you still purchase products from them. Guess you don't hate them that much.

Really? You are awfully quick to point out that your Mac can run three OSs. So Microsoft is a monopoly how? Ah, right, a court found them guilty so we must all simply bow our heads and swallow what the American judicial system tells us to swallow. Sorry, I guess I'm not as much of a sheep as you are. wink
