- How do you figure?

Nintendo has pretty much publicly stated they are leaving the gamer audience to Sony and Microsoft. The Wii is going after your mom, dad, sister, brother, etc who doesn't play games. They want to win the casual gamer market hence they are pushing a lower price and a much less complicated system (less buttons, "remote control" controller design, etc).
Sure, Nintendo has some of the best franchises in the world, but most of those are targeted at a family audience.
Not only that, Nintendo goes out of it's way to ensure not only DRM, but physical rights management. The Gamecube had a completely different (and proprietary) disc format than DVD precisely because of this reason.
Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo, have a Gamecube, and will get a Wii to go with my Xbox 360, but I'm not sure how you justify that the Wii is the "ultimate choice" for the "true gamer's soul". Unless you're just joking of course
