Exactly. Who did they learn that lesson from? Read some history on Nintendo from the 80s. My rose coloured glasses dissapeared a long time ago.
Instead of becoming a mindless fanboy, and dillusioning yourself into thinking that Wii is some sort of saviour that's out for the interests of gamers worldwide, read up on some history, and notice that they ALL play the same games, depending on the circumstances. Nintendo's business practises when they were on top of the console market were much the same as Microsoft's business practises while they're on top of the OS market, and Apple's while they're on top of the portable music player market.
