Absolutely. It makes a massive difference. It doesn't have to be some huge ultra swanktacular tv, either. I have my 360 hooked up to a 44" rp lcd and it's always looked incredible. My mother recently purchased a 360 (she is an rpg nut and bought it specifically for oblivion). Visiting her a couple weeks ago I noticed how different it looked on her set. She has a 32" Sony Wega standard tube that is hd capable, but she had the 360 hooked up via normal rca inputs. I switched it over to one of the component inputs and switched the set up the 360 for HD output and the difference was staggering... not even worth comparing the differece was so great.
