Helio is just a MVNO.

To spend 440M on just a MVNO that will not or cannot make it (based on my opinion) is silly.

Fist off, they would be competing with the major carriers, Sprint/Nextel, Cingular, Verizon, and T-Mobile.

Secondly, there are already existing MVNOs such as Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile, Amp'd Mobile (laugh laugh), among others.

No, companies which succeed in wireless first off have their own network, make available countless number of phones (hundreds if not thousands - GSM) and rich smart savvy kids look for the latest which other people have. Its the rave that matters for kids. Helio is not a billion dollar company and late in the game. Helio's name is pretty stupid too.
