You OWN the songs from iTunes!
Interesting bit of news--according to the record labels, you are not licensing the rights when you make an iTunes purchase, you are actually buying the song. This is great news, as it gives you all kinds of fair use rights!

How do we know this? Because if a song is licensed, the record company has to pay the artist a higher rate than if a song is purchased. Since the record companies are only paying artists the "purchase" rate for iTunes downloads, clearly they feel it is a purchase, and not a license. More here:
