Dell whacks prices on select notebooks, desktops

Your color depends on your size

You an IT department so you get Dell's Gold. I can count the
number of PCs/Macs in my business on one hand so I get Dell's
Brown.

As I noted Dells customer service was excellent when it was in-
house (Texas for me in those days) even for the small guy. I was
the first to recommend Dells in those days primarily because of
the technical support. Cost wasn't the issue - I never paid less
then $1,500 for a Dell because I would always upgrade the basic
models.

For a small guy it isn't always a hardware failure that generates a
call for help. Other questions can arise and when they do I need
some help, which I get because of AppleCare - just like I used to
from Dell.

I don't believe that eh problems I faced during my last week with
a Dell was because CS was moved to India - I believe it
happened because CS was transferred to a 3rd party who makes
more money if they get you off the line fast. That caused
sufficuent problems for Dell to move larger accounts back to
Texas and actual Dell employees, but the small guy is stuck in
Dell Hell.
