But in the tests of Macs running XP, they've performed as well, or better than the equivalent PC's from other companies. So it's not a case of one system doing things "okay", it's one system doing things as well or better than all of the other systems.

In general I agree with your point, that convergence devices are never as good as dedicated devices, but this case appears to be an exception.
