Yeah, consumables are what they are...
I agree, consumables tend to be pricy but it's a trade off I am willing to make for reliability. Last time I bought a toner cartridge for the laserjet 4 it was around $85. Yeah there are cheaper ones available but only by $10 or so. To be honest, if I have to muck around with the printer for any length of time it's easy to eat up that $10 of savings. I guess it's all a matter of your priorities.
