They said the same thing about calculators. The truth is
being able to do long division, square roots, multiplication using log tables, etc, by HAND, is not all that intelectually stimulating or usefull.

Same goes for drawing, new kids will learn how to do drawing on computers, and will have lower skill levels for doing in by hand. So be it. Using computers, they will be able to do so much more, a lot faster, and can be more creative. With the computer, you can rapidly try different colors, duplicat parts, etc. They have shown that if you can very rapidly try differnt things, you are a lot more creative and productive.
