the mpeg format isn't under discussion, or, surely, it would be the MPEG group who were raising the lawsuit. The issue is Microsoft's latest theft of someone elses intellectual property, their ideas. While Microsoft hold Lucent in court, the stolen property will be leveraged onto every Microsoft desktop in the time-honoured, 800 lb gorrilla way. Where else but corporate America can a company continue to profit from something they stole just because they have the cash to tie down the wronged party in the courts, indefinitely?
