My view
A product should be made as safe as possible before being sold and recall should happen when the product is found to unsafe. Losing ones hearing is not safe. Looks to me like standards for safety need to implemented here. You can't just may cause hearing loss because there are too many products out there. One may cause it at volume level 8 another at volume lever 9 another at volume 7. Why not just legislate that most people don't get hearing loss at X decibals and say that's what the max volume can be.

I hear you on cigarettes. Those should be illegal. I just don't get it really. They make pot illegal but allow cigarettes which are 10 times worse than pot. Yeah that's smart.

Just goes to show you that if big tech wants they can pull what big tobbacco does and buy themselves a few politicians and judges. Then in 10 years you can everyone shouting the court room about who caused the hearing loss to a generation just like big tobacco is in trouble for with selling thier product that kills.
