Wonder when the patent was filed
Vibrating game controllers go back quite some time. Sony only started doing after Nintendo did back in the mid 90s. I had a Joy stick that did this when X-Wing VS Tie-Fighter was first out.

You know I don't even remember what my PC was when I played that game. Might have been a Pentium 133 or was it the 486? Man that was a long time ago.
