Indian Call Centers.
4 years ago, I worked tech support for a third party company that had contracts with Dell and Microsoft. Our approval rating from customers was pretty good from what we were always told by both companies, but then all the sudden Dell decided to cancel our contract and give it to a company in India. At that time I owned a Dell, and had a few hardware issues (something I personally didn't do support for) so I called in to order the parts. Not only was I unable to understand the person I was talking to, he ended up telling me that my problem was that I needed to reformat and reinstall (sorry, that's not going to make a bit of difference when you are trying to order a power supply, fan, and an extra stick of memory). After arguing with this person for 10 minutes, and being told repeatedly that he didn't have to escalate my call if he didn't want to, I finally hung up, went to fry's and just bought the parts with my own money, when they would have been covered under warranty.

Lots of my friends and family members have had the same experience, and its not just with Dell anymore. Cell phone companies, software companies... they are all sending those jobs to people that will work for less than any of us will (although, I do admit, making $14 an hour at 18 years old when the cost of living in my area isn't all that high was pretty nice).

I hope Apple really looks at what they are doing, and what the consequences will be. I also hope I finish my Apple Certified Tech before anything on my mac breaks, so I have to deal with those people as little as possible.
