Like it or not, the story has referred to what the US Patents office has declared as a final rejection. It has been stated that it can still be appealed so I don't see why the headlines should be regarded as bogus - call it as you like, final, non-final, potayto, potarto.

Actually, I can see why ... perhaps you're in the legal profession (or a film and/or literature critic) and like to nitpick on the words just as much as the average journalist? Hmmm...
