Trouble is, DRM has good uses
Enterprises use DRM to protect confidential materials, e.g. lawyers working on client documents, banks protecting financial agreements, etc.

Ban this type of DRM on Linux (or other relevant software) and you just banned Linux from serving those industries.

Take gun, point at foot, pull trigger.

Protecting privacy is good, but there is existing law that does that pretty well (at least outside the US), so the GPL doesn't need to complicate itself with that issue.

But of course a DRM system protects bits and bytes, and those can cover ANYTHING.
