No, Linus said that...
he isn't against someone else making a DRMed kernel. If he wanted it in there, he would have put it in himself. So he is really taking a hands-off stance on it. It's up to the individual user, not him, to decide what goes on his/her machine, DRM or no DRM.

And if you think DRM is that magic bullet that will kill Linux, think about the Sony XCP/MediaMax fiasco and the iTunes MiniStore brouhaha really hard. Are you really willing to open up your machine to privacy invasions, rootkits that actively hide from you, and malware that can piggyback on DRM? If you think about it, the GPL and Linux is looking better by the day.

And FYI, Linux can play music: AmaroK, Rhythmbox, and Xine work just fine, without DRM.
