That all depends on the situation
Say your want to play with your friends that started the game some 8 months ago. Problem is you can't. They've advanced beyond you and you don't have the powers to play in thier league. So you spend a few bucks on E-bay to boost your self to thier league and you have fun playing with your friends.

I don't play these games, think they are waste of time but I have quite few friends who were addicted to Evercrack. I don't understand why they play but then I have friends who don't understand why I collect movies. To each thier own I guess. Lots of stupid ways to waste money out there.
