The Latest Version is Not Supported
The Mac version only Plays WMP 9 and hasn't been updated in 3 years. MSIE for Mac was the same way, although MSIE for wasn;t the same as MSIE for Windows as it was quite possible to write a page that displayed diffrent in both. Also Active X was never implemented in MSIE Mac.

Both are happening- MS can say we own most of the PC market so use our format while at the same time use the format to force users to upgrade their versions of Windows and lock out Mac/Linux/Unix from being able to play media on the desktop. This is exactly what the Korean and EU courts found, and is why they were ordered to produce WMP less versions. Its not so much the digital players yet, but web media that is at issue.

Would you want an application that can't play the latest versions? Is buggy hence crashes all the time? It also doesn't follow the OSX themes so it looks out of place- That is important to the OSX users.
