My idea...
I wish they could standardize a format that didn't limit the file and where it was played.

I wish all the software programs worked the same and the one with the BEST INTERFACE AND FEATURES would win.

Let iTunes, Windows Media Player, Winamp, Real Player, etc all continue to be free downloads all supporting the same files and the same codecs and let the best software win.

I just don't see Microsoft not making an update for Media Player on the mac as something to whine about. There are probably 1,000 things they don't support on the mac and the music is the biggest issue? Who would want to use Media Player on the mac (obviously missing a video codec would probably be the answer).

I think Microsoft knows that anyone who does multimedia on an Apple computer will probably be using iTunes (because it's better? because they bought an iPod?).

But I agree that whining and some point and speaking with your wallet will make those companies begin to play by the rules and listen to their consumer base.
