Pretty much...
This would be Microsoft, willfully using their application dominance to force a migration to a Microsoft OS. However, if you consider the fact that more applications exist today that rival Microsoft, and that Mac is starting to take marketshare away from Microsoft, then Microsoft would have proof that they are not a monopoly and have the right to exploit this as anti-competitive behavior. Whereas with Netscape, they managed to kill the market by using desktop dominance.


This is actually more marketing for Apple to say, "Look, Microsoft wants to kill us, so apparently we are doing something right"

IE and Windows Media Player and MSN Messenger are not money making products for Microsoft, they only help to sell their OS and kill the market for other softwares in those fields. The only one that does kill business for Microsoft would be MSN, but let's face it, MSN wasn't that much of a money maker for Microsoft anyway.
