- Apple is still looking for the real killer
-
---Netscape is the little guy? I think you'd best do more
research.---
Huh? What is this supposed to mean? When did I call Netscape
"the little guy"? Let's recap:
You said:
"At least Microsoft has the decency to buy the companies before
including their products in Windows."
I said:
"Wow, when did Microsoft buy Netscape?"
Where does this imply anything about the size of Netscape?
---Then don't bring up Netscape since it was hardly a new
product.---
Now you're combining two different arguments together and
contradicting yourself.
First, there's your incorrect comment that MS buys a company
before including their product (see above). If you believe that
progress is incremental then why would MS have " the decency
to buy the companies before including their products in
Windows."
Second, there's your implication that Apple must have stolen this
idea from this developer. Now you're changing your tune to to
say that products are often incremental and obvious, so your
original claim that Apple was somehow ripping off this guy by
putting out a web publishing program is silly.
So which is it? Is Apple ripping this guy off? If not, then why
does MS pay for things which are incremental (or do they
actually pay as you earlier claimed)? And we won't even get into
questions of which company paid XPARC for GUI concepts.... - Posted by: tic swayback Posted on: 01/10/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
