Whats in a name?
It's very curious to see that the moment a Dutch company, with product already in it's pipeline, anounces that it has aquired the the Commodore name, people start writing in, in their hundreds asking to work for this newly monickered co.
Same old company, just a different name.
And it just comes down to 9 little letters.
C-O-M-M-O-D-O-R-E.
Whatever intellectual property and innovation was aquired has long since been been absorbed into the IT world in general. We must thank the originators of that original Commodore company all those moons ago for all that great hardware they produced(with the exception of the Commodore-16), but that that company died a long time ago. All that is left is a name. Lets wish the new company the best of luck, but let not get a misplaced sense of nostalgia for the 'good old days' blind us to what has just happened. A simple name change. Thats all.
Whats in a name?, judging by the other posts here, apparently everything.
