Besides cell phone and computer together...
How about a TTY that can be built into a cell phone? I have a Motorola V710 and Ameriphone Q90-D TTY and I am having problems using a TTY in digital mode, so I have to switch my phone to analog to receive text clearly. When I hear my cell phone ring, I have to make sure my cell phone are connected to my TTY and set my cell phone to analog. However, I don't think I can do this during when my cell phone rings. There's more: After I hang up my cell phone, my cell phone will go back to digital, and last is, after about 5 to 10 minutes, my cell phone goes back to digital! Man, I have to go into Options menu, go to Network Setup, and set my phone to analog only. This is embarrassing!

I was thinking...what the cell phone industry forgets is: Accessibility for people with disabilities!

There's a talking software from MaxiAids.com ( http://www.maxiaids.com/store/prodView.asp?idproduct=5125&idstore=1&idCategory=&category=&product=Mobile_Speak_-_Talking_Software_for_Your_Cell_Phone ) for select models of cell phone (not available for my Motorola V710). Plus, there's mobile TTY machines that can connect to my cell phone and I already have the Q90-D.

Not only I have to carry my cell phone (not a problem because I can fit in my pocket), I also have to carry my TTY and deal with setting up my TTY and my cell phone when somebody calls me! Thus, when I go to Disney World and I have to put a TTY in a backpack, then I have to go through security to check my backpack! sad So, since I don't want to carry my TTY, I don't have to carry a backpack, which I don't have to go through security.

Cell phone manufactures will need to implement a TTY into cell phones. I don't want to deal with setting my cell phone in analog mode and connecting my TTY to my cell phone, turn on my TTY, wait for a second to boot up while I set my cell phone to analog mode, press the spacebar to go online, and start the conversation. That's going to take about a couple of seconds before my voice mail will take over!

Since I'll mostly be recieving a phone call from my mom and dad and calling either my mom or dad, I don't need a TTY for that. But for somebody else's, I have to have a TTY for that because I'm hearing impaired. Of course, I do tend to almost understand what my mom and dad are saying but does seem clear to me as I've always have my phone to my right ear as I can better hear spoken words toward my right ear,, however, not quite.

There's a Krown Pocket TTY ( http://www13.ssldomain.com/ttyweb/catalog-search_results.asp?searchterm=PocketComm ), but again, it's also a hassle: connecting between TTY and my cell phone, setting my cell phone to analog, turn on my TTY, wait for a second--you get the ideal. For the Pocket TTY, the number of characters in a screen are less than the Q90-D.

So please, cell phone manufactures, implement TTY into cell phones. I know it can take some time to choose the numbers that correspond to letters but at least it can save a hassle for those who are hearing impaired, hard-of-hearing, or deaf to answer and call using only the cell phone and no external TTY machine.
