SkyTel 2-Way
Does anyone remember pagers? Back in the day you could subscribe to a company called SkyTel and they provided 2-Way text messaging through RS232 ports thay you could connect to HP 100 palmtops.

There was no range issue or roaming carges. I suspect the thing worked by satelite.

In any case SkyTel was eventually purchased by Bill Gates. Superior technology halted for 10 years or so so that inferior technology profits could be milked. Government exists to prohibit this kind of thing.

Of course, one never knows. Perhaps Bill Gates really wanted to make SkyTell a going concern. Yea Right.

History will be kind to Bill Gates because he intends to write it. ;>0 Note smily.
