Microsoft Makes A Not-Too Smart Move At Release Time

Well, the marketing geniuses at Microsoft have struck again. Yesterday I found out that only 20% of the shipments shipped out for release date, meaning 80% of the people (including myself) have to wait for another shipment and hope there is enough to go around.

Why does Microsoft pull this stunt? They did the EXACT same thing at XBox launch, and I think pulling this crap by not having their stuff together is going to tank them when the PS3 comes out next year.

Now I'm not bashing Microsoft for once by saying they suck, they are crap, etc.....I think the XBox was and still is an awesome system, I play mine quite frequently...but if you are going to promise a release date with X amount of quantity in the shipment and then you only ship 20% of them and tell everyone else to go home and wait, what effect do you think that has on overall profitability and success?

Get it together Microsoft. The 360 is an awesome piece of hardware, but if you don't have enough to go around, no one's going to bother getting it and wait for something else to come along with better quantities in stock.
