Underwhelmed

I'm sure there a few crazies that will fight and scream to go get this box. Microsoft is assisting by purposely limiting supplies in hopes that the 360 will be this years Tickle-Me-Elmo. At $500 (for the real unit) and a handful of "decent" games for it I don't think we'll hear much outside specially sponsored events. Yes, Microsoft's advertisement agency has a whole bunch of these already planned to attempt to artificially produce hype for the unit. These events include paid reviews by tech writers (ZDNet included) and even a blog "storm". Get ready to be underwelmed people. The blog one I'm sure will taste so bad it may have a reverse effect than the one desired. Time will tell.

In my opinion: Wait a year, buy the unit when it's probably a little bit cheaper and has a better game selection. But if you MUST have it this Christmas, try to avoid the 360 marketting annoyances since they may distract you from feeling like you did something cool and unique.
