Not abandoning, but already abandoned.
He is right about one thing, they are not abandoning the Palm OS. That can't happen now because it already happened a while ago. Palm has long since abandoned us. It's too bad to, since Palm was head-n-shoulders above the rest.

It's sad that they couldn't make it pay...
