You can't force a blood test
I believe that a suspect cannot be required to submit to a blood test because of constitutional rules that a person cannot be forced to testify or bear witness against him/herself.

So you can't force someone to submit to a blood test in this type of case.

Note: I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know the particulars of whether or not one *ever* has to submit blood for DNA or any other kind of test. I just know I've read that you can't force a suspect in the case of drunk driving.
