that doesn't make sense
The reason you pay taxes is for serives provide by the government. That services like roads, law enforcement, and such. If you never set foot in that state then you never make use of those services. But were you live you do make use of those services. It does make any sense to pay taxes for an area you don't live in where you get no benifit from said taxes.

This would like saying I work for company X in an office in one state but the head office is in another state but I'm expected to pay corporate head office state taxes and not the taxes for the state I would live in. That's exactly what this is as telecomuters work in the offices that happens to be located in thier home.
