In a previous article, Apple was moving to force royalties on any 3rd party vendor who supplies accessories for the iPod.
This little blip is proof positive that third party products deserve full credit for contributing to the iPod culture. If consumers are stuck with their old products and can't continue to use them, it turns them off.
