Well that was a nice speach and to some extent I do agree
but still it did not answer my question. Just what is it that you
use? OS...Hardware and applications that in some fashion
duplicate what Apple and or MS has to offer?

My point being that yes I would love to be completely free from
all kinds of monopolies yet on the other hand and I will admit a
conflicting desire here...I like SIMPLE or EASY and "IF" a
manufacturer goes the EXTRA mile to make my life simpler..not
harder I appreciate that and am willing to pay more for what I
consider to be a better option. Like I said back in the old days
of VCR's I decided instead of programming that stupid clock I
simply put a piece of black tape over the blinking
12:00..because that was EASIER!
