I'm curios too.
I'll admit that I'm a Mac and iPod fan. But I'd like to see a photo
of the evidence. I was considering a Nano but now I'm thinking
twice. I own a mini and I haven't had a problem with scratches
(yes I know it has an aluminum case). It does have a couple of
scratches on it from regular use, but nothing that I didn't
expect.

I would be disappointed too if my iPod scratched just by looking
at it. However, if these people are complaining after slipping
their iPod into their pocket with keys and spare change, then I
don't really feel sorry for them. They make the iPod socks for a
reason, not just because they look cute.

Again, I'm not saying that these complaints are bogus. I'd just
like to see the evidence. And I know that Apple (like all big
companies) won't admit guilt until the bitter end. If there is a
problem, I hope Apple makes a model with a more durable case.

This sort of thing happens a lot with the first gen of a product
line. I bought an iMac G5 when they first hit the market. They
said it was as quiet as a whisper. Trust me, if you make an iMac
G5 do any kind of work (like rendering a video) it will quickly
turn into one of the loudest computers around. Maybe I should
take Apple to court!
