Best check those facts again
Oh dear Peter. Perhaps you're just unfamiliar with Microsoft's
products for the Mac. If you recall, I said:
"Microsoft does not make a version of WMP for
the Mac that can use their DRM"

Take a look at the link you posted. WMP 9 does not support
Microsoft's DRM systems. It's only just recently gotten to the
point where you can actually play a WMP file in a web browser.
MS has kept the Mac version of WMP several years behind what's
offered for Windows.

---On the other hand, Apple has the option to license MS
technology (just like so many other companies have done) and
add that to iTunes as well as iPod, but they decide that you, as
their customer, should not have that option. Once again, the
decision to give you that option is squarely in Apple's court.---

Can you please show me where such a product exists, a version
of MS' DRM system for WMP that I can license for any operating
system other than Windows? Can you actually license something
that does not exist? Sure, they could add it to the iPod, but it's
still not going to work on a Mac.

Furthermore, your argument is completely irrelevant. I don't
want WMP for an iPod. You said that other players were better
and offered more, and that's what I really want. I want a non-
Apple player with a music/video store that will work on my Mac.
If anyone can license WMP and MS' DRM for any operating
system, why hasn't Archos, or Dell, or Napster, or Yahoo or any
one of the companies trying to make players or have a music
store licensed that technology? Why should Apple be
responsible for licensing technology for Napster?

You asked a simple question--whether we Mac users had
checked out any product other than the iPod. We told you we'd
love to, but the manufacturers of those products have failed to
make them compatible with our computers. You are trying to
blame this on Apple, when you know the fault for this lies with
the manufacturers of the devices and the owners of the stores.

Perhaps you spend too much time on windowsisthebestest.com
to be able to admit this.
