"HP has lost more
than most of the other vendors in the aftermarket because they sell more than any other vendor,"

Could that also be because they charge more than any other vendor?

HP used to be the best out there, but now they are just the most expensive. Since companies are barely making anything if not losing money on the printer (I read somewhere the $199 HP PhotoJet contains $230 in parts), it really comes down to print quality and cost per page, and HP is no longer ahead in either category.
