iPhoto Pro
Think of Aperture as iPhoto Pro. For those folks that have never
used iPhoto it might seem odd but this is a tool that the pros
with thousands of images could really use.

Aperture has similar tools that iPhoto has for printing and
publishing, probably better. It also has the ability to put images
side by side to choose the best ones from a large photo shoot.
The ability to manipulate the original in several different
versions of a copy and then store only the changes thereby
saving space will be a nice trick. The ability to use metadata to
organize and search for images should make finding and using
one photo out of a huge number easier.

I have been using iPhoto since it first came out and am amazed
by how many of my PC friends think it is some high dollar app.
The program keeps getting better at organizing and
manipulating my photos and it looks like Apple used all those
tricks and more for Aperture.

For those that have not usede iPhoto in the last 6 mos, go try it
out and see ALL the things it can do. You can always talk with
the guys at CompUSA about how much you prefer a PC and they
will probably agree, unless you find one that has actually used a
Mac for some time. wink
