Forgive my ignorance, but to what extent would the laptop batery life be extended if the main application being used was installed to flash card and run through a USB port rather than from the HDD. In the past I had done that (with a Syquest drive) for security to allow me to use certain programs at work, but keep anyone else from accessing them when I was not around. Now, my main concern is battery life.

Would this have any appreciable benefit, assuming the programs *could* abe installed on a flash drive?
