Um...
1.) 64-bit doesn't offer a great performance advantage right now, but, for the sake of arguement, Pentium M's don't have it.

2.) Even with HyperTransport, Pentium M's routinely thump Turion64's and their Athlon64 brethren. With a 533 MHz frontside bus, the Pentium M cans the Athlon64 3000+ featuring a 1000 MHz frontside bus via HyperTransport.

3.) Nay, the Pentium M still relies on frontside bus to achieve similar or BETTER performance at LOWER power. That's what matters, right?

4.) About as much as your chipset needs. Capishe?

I'll digress, Prescotts and Smithfields were really disappointing in my eye. The few admirable things that Prescott has should have been mounted on a 90nm Northwood core. The advanced hyperthreading, SSE3, VT, XD, EM64T and EIST all of these would have been better put to good use on a cooler running power saving Northwood core.

All the same, I fail to see your point. AMD has it's string of technologies just as Intel does. Why the hell are AMD chips even ALLOWED to use ANY of the SSE technologies, all of which have been developed by Intel?

No, I'm sorry. The following question is what it boils down to:

1.) Does it perform better than the rival chip at the same price in what I need it to perform in?

If a 32-bit, non-memory controlled, non-HyperTransport chip beats an AMD equivalent at an equivalent price, I'll do without those techs, thank you very much.
